Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
"Hi my name is Lesley Mills and I am the Principal at Casino West Public School.
I have a deep passion for equity in education and believe that our schools should be an engaging and stimulating learning environment for all of our children. I enjoy teaching children to build on their strengths and realise the opportunities available for them to follow their dreams in today’s world.
I have over 30 years experience in education and was recently awarded an Australian Teaching Fellowing for innovation and improving learning outcomes for children.
In 2020 I was awarded the NSW Primary Principals Association Aboriginal Education Award for commitment to Aboriginal education in the Bundjalung Nation of Northern NSW.
My interests are dancing, travelling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
I look forward to working with the whole school community to provide our children and their families with a positive and caring educational experience."

Mr. Dean Campbell, Assistant principal stage 3
"Hi. My name is Dean Campbell and I am an Assistant Principal at Casino West Public School in charge of Stage 3.
I have a Bachelor of Education from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga. I grew up on Wiradjuri land in Leeton NSW, but I have now been at Casino West for 22 years. I believe in fostering a wholistic child who is a thinker and motivated learner who can operate to their full potential in any environment and encourage others to achieve the same.
My interests include going to garage sales, collecting and restoring antiques and old tools and building furniture with these old tools.
I love Casino West and its community and feel very privileged to be a part of a strong learning tradition and of the many amazing students that have been through here."

Mrs. Karen Campbell, Assistant principal stage 1

I have a Bachelor of Education – Early Childhood and a Bachelor of Education – Infants/Primary. I believe in creating a learning environment that is a safe, secure and fun place for children to explore their world and engage in creative thinking, all the while developing their social skills and independence.
My interests include reading, singing, cooking, gardening and hunting out treasures while op-shopping.
I thoroughly enjoy being part of our Casino West Public School – Little Jarjums Preschool team. Helping to ensure children and families receive the best early childhood learning experience possible is always one of my priorities."

They work closely with students to provide personalized guidance and mentorship, ensuring that each learner feels valued and heard. These educators often incorporate Indigenous perspectives and knowledge into the curriculum, enriching the educational experience for all students.
