We are pleased to Introduce Michael Marriott.
A big hello to the wonderful school community of Casino West Public School
My name is Michael Marriott and I am the Wellbeing and Health In-reach Nurse (WHIN) Coordinator for Casino West Public School.
The purpose of my role is to work with school staff to assist students and families to access health and wellbeing services in the community.
The WHIN Coordinator is an employee of NSW Health and provides advice and support under the same code of confidentiality as other Health roles. While contact with the WHIN Coordinator is within the school, the WHIN Coordinator is working on behalf on NSW Health.
While 2021 has been a challenging year for everyone, I am excited to be working in your school community and have noticed many wonderful strengths in the students, families and staff. I feel very privileged to work alongside so many great school community members, with a special thank you to the traditional owners and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
Examples of the types of services WHIN can assist with include, access to allied health such as speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology and dieticians. Medical support such as general practitioners, paediatricians, psychiatrists and other specialist consultants. Alcohol and other drug services as well as mental health supports . Social services including Centrelink, non-government and government services to support housing, emergency social/financial assistance and domestic violence services. Disability services including NDIS.
